BHOPAL: The Madhya Pradesh government has issued orders reshuffling the responsibilities of four Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, involving appointments and additional charges across the Sports and Youth Welfare Department, Intelligence, Police Headquarters, AJAK and Narcotics wings.
As part of the latest administrative changes, Chandra Shekhar (IPS:1995) has been appointed Director, Sports and Youth Welfare Department, Madhya Pradesh.
Meanwhile, Anshuman Yadav (IPS:1998), who was serving as Director, Sports and Youth Welfare, has been assigned additional responsibilities as Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Intelligence, as well as Additional DGP, Police Headquarters, Bhopal.
The government has also assigned additional charges to two other senior IPS officers.
Chandra Shekhar Appointed Sports and Youth Welfare Director
Chandra Shekhar (IPS:1995), an Additional Director General of Police, has been appointed as the Director of the Sports and Youth Welfare Department, Madhya Pradesh.
With the new assignment, he will take charge of the department responsible for overseeing the state’s sports and youth welfare initiatives.
Anshuman Yadav Gets Intelligence, Police Headquarters Charges
Anshuman Yadav (IPS:1998), who was serving as Director, Sports and Youth Welfare, has been given additional charge of two important police responsibilities.
He has been assigned additional charge as:
- Additional Director General of Police, Intelligence
- Additional DGP, Police Headquarters, Bhopal

Yadav will therefore handle the Sports and Youth Welfare portfolio along with the additional responsibilities assigned to him under the latest government order.
Anil Kumar Gets Additional AJAK Charge
Anil Kumar (IPS:1993) has been assigned the additional charge of Special Director General of Police, AJAK, Police Headquarters, Bhopal.
The additional responsibility adds to his existing assignment and places him in charge of the AJAK-related responsibilities at the Police Headquarters.
D. Srinivasa Varma Gets Narcotics, AJAK Charge
D. Srinivasa Varma (IPS:1997) has been given additional charge as Additional Director General of Police, Narcotics and AJAK, Police Headquarters, Bhopal.
His additional responsibilities cover both the Narcotics and AJAK wings at the state Police Headquarters.
Four IPS Officers, Multiple Key Responsibilities
The latest changes involve four senior IPS officers from the 1993, 1995, 1997 and 1998 batches.
While Chandra Shekhar moves into the Sports and Youth Welfare Department, Anshuman Yadav has been given additional police responsibilities, including Intelligence and Police Headquarters.
At the same time, Anil Kumar and D. Srinivasa Varma have been entrusted with additional responsibilities in AJAK, with Varma also receiving charge of the Narcotics wing.
The reshuffle brings changes across several key administrative and policing functions in Madhya Pradesh.
