Bhopal: The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the four-lane construction of the Badnawar–Petlawad–Thandla–Timarwani section of National Highway 752D in Madhya Pradesh.

The highway project will be developed at an estimated cost of ₹3,839 crore and is expected to significantly improve road connectivity in the Malwa and Nimar regions, including several tribal-dominated areas.

Reacting to the decision, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister and the Union Cabinet for approving the important infrastructure project.

Direct Connectivity to Delhi–Mumbai Expressway

According to the Chief Minister, the corridor will provide direct four-lane connectivity from Ujjain to the Timarwani interchange of the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway.

This improved connectivity will make travel easier between key industrial cities such as:

  • Indore
  • Pithampur
  • Ujjain
  • Dewas

The project will also strengthen connectivity in districts like Dhar and Jhabua, helping improve transportation and logistics across the region.

Boost for Trade, Investment, and Agriculture

The Chief Minister said the four-lane highway will play a crucial role in enhancing economic and industrial activities in the Malwa region as well as in tribal areas.

Better road connectivity is expected to:

  • Improve the movement of goods and agricultural produce
  • Encourage new industrial investments
  • Strengthen regional trade and transport networks
  • Generate employment opportunities for local residents

The project will particularly benefit farmers by enabling faster and easier transportation of agricultural products to markets.

Important for Simhastha 2028 Preparations

CM Mohan Yadav also highlighted that the project will be crucial for preparations for Simhastha 2028, a major religious gathering held in Ujjain.

During the event, millions of pilgrims from across India and abroad visit the city. The improved road infrastructure will make travel more convenient and help reduce traffic congestion during the large-scale gathering.

Expanding India’s Modern Transport Infrastructure

The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India’s road and transport infrastructure is expanding rapidly, helping states accelerate economic development.

He thanked the Prime Minister and the Union Cabinet for approving the highway project, calling it an important step toward strengthening connectivity and development in Madhya Pradesh.
