NALCO Awards ₹5,000 Crore Pottangi Bauxite Mines Contract to Dilip Buildcon, ₹11.78 Crore Exploration Deal to South West Pinnacle

The 25-year mining contract and new exploration consultancy strengthen NALCO’s long-term raw material security and boost development of the Pottangi Bauxite Mines.

New Delhi: National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), a leading central public sector enterprise in the mining and metals sector, has finalized two major contracts that mark a significant expansion of its mining operations, particularly focused on the strategic Pottangi Bauxite Mines. The company’s latest awards underscore its long-term plan to secure raw material supply, strengthen operational capacity, and optimize exploration activities for future resource development.

Dilip Buildcon Secures ₹5,000 Crore, 25-Year Mega Mining Contract

In one of its largest mining-related agreements in recent years, NALCO has awarded a ₹5,000 crore, 25-year contract to Dilip Buildcon Limited (DBL) for the comprehensive development and operation of the Pottangi Bauxite Mines.

Two-Phase Execution Plan

Phase 1 – EPC Works (First 3 Years):
DBL will undertake Engineering, Procurement, and Construction activities, including the development of an overland conveyor corridor and essential mine infrastructure required for full-scale operations.

Phase 2 – Mining & Transportation (Next 22 Years):
Once the infrastructure is complete, DBL will move into long-term mining operations, including systematic extraction and transportation of bauxite.
This multi-decade partnership is expected to ensure stable raw material supply for NALCO’s alumina and aluminium production facilities while improving logistics efficiency.

South West Pinnacle Bags ₹11.78 Crore Exploration Consultancy

In a separate development, NALCO has also awarded a ₹11.78 crore, 24-month consultancy contract to South West Pinnacle Exploration Ltd.

The consultancy focuses on bauxite exploration studies, geological analysis, and resource mapping. The work will help NALCO refine mining strategies, assess deposit potential, and strengthen its long-term mineral security.

This contract reflects NALCO’s continued emphasis on detailed exploration—a critical component in maximizing resource recovery and identifying new reserves to support future mining expansions.

NALCO Continues Regular Tendering for Supplies & Services

Apart from large-scale mining projects, NALCO regularly issues tenders for maintenance, supply contracts, and professional services. These opportunities are made available through the NALCO Tenders Page and government procurement platforms such as GeM.
Vendors, contractors, and service providers are encouraged to monitor these portals for the latest updates and submission deadlines.
