NBCC Organises 20th SAMVAAD to Strengthen Project Execution, Technology and Business Growth

Two-day programme focuses on cyber security, new construction technology, vigilance, financial performance, digitalisation and strategies to achieve NBCC’s Maharatna vision.

New Delhi: NBCC (India) Limited successfully organised the 20th edition of SAMVAAD at the Convention Centre, East Kidwai Nagar, New Delhi. The two-day programme brought together NBCC’s senior management, project heads and employees to discuss project execution, business development, financial performance, technology adoption, human resources and organisational growth.

The event provided a platform for exchanging ideas, addressing operational challenges and discussing strategies to improve project execution and overall organisational performance.

NBCC SAMVAAD Focuses on Project Execution and Business Growth

The programme was attended by Dr. K. P. Mahadevaswamy, Chairman & Managing Director, NBCC, Dr. Suman Kumar, Director (Commercial), Anjeev Kumar Jain, Director (Finance) and Ritu Pande, Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO).

Senior management, RBG/SBG Heads, project heads and employees also participated in the two-day programme.

The discussions covered several key areas, including:

  • Project execution
  • Business development
  • Financial performance
  • Technology adoption
  • Human resources and manpower
  • Contract management
  • Organisational growth
  • Internal audit
  • Financial closure of projects

Day One Focuses on Cyber Security and Vigilance

The first day featured a presentation on “Cyber Hygiene” by Anish Prashad, IPS officer of the 2003 batch from the Tripura cadre.

The session focused on:

  • Cyber security awareness
  • Responsible digital practices
  • Prevention of digital fraud

The session was followed by a presentation by Kapil Deo Narayan, Chief Technical Examiner (CTE), Central Vigilance Commission (CVC).

He provided insights into technical examination, vigilance, quality-related aspects of major government construction projects and efficient contract management.

Vigilance Campaign Highlights ‘Probity for Prosperity’

The vigilance-related sessions were organised as part of a three-month campaign being conducted as a prelude to Vigilance Awareness Week.

The campaign is based on the theme “सत्यनिष्ठा से समृद्धि” – “Probity for Prosperity”.

Its key focus areas include:

  • Disposal of pending complaints
  • Disposal of pending cases
  • Capacity-building programmes
  • Digital initiatives
  • Contract management

The campaign aims to strengthen preventive vigilance, transparency and accountability across the organisation.

NBCC Discusses New Construction Technologies

The programme also featured two sessions by the Building Materials and Technology Promotion Council (BMTPC) on New Construction Technology.

The sessions covered modern construction techniques, innovative building materials and emerging solutions for the construction sector.

The discussions focused on the importance of adopting new technologies to improve construction efficiency and strengthen NBCC’s project execution capabilities.

NBCC Shram Sewa Portal Inaugurated

During the programme, the NBCC Shram Sewa Portal was also inaugurated.

The portal reflects NBCC’s continued focus on digitalisation and manpower-centric service delivery. The initiative is aimed at strengthening digital processes and improving services related to the organisation’s workforce.

The programme also included discussions on provisions of the Industrial Relations and Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020, with emphasis on statutory compliance and workplace safety.

Day Two Reviews Project Performance and Turnover Targets

The second day of SAMVAAD focused on the performance of various projects against their allotted turnover targets and MoU evaluation criteria.

Detailed discussions were held on areas requiring improvement and the strategic priorities for the organisation.

Key areas discussed included:

  • Business development
  • OSD realisation
  • Closure of completed projects
  • Contract management
  • Financial closure of projects
  • Internal Audit
  • HR and manpower management

The discussions aimed at identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to enhance project execution and financial performance.

NBCC CMD Calls for Collective Efforts to Become Maharatna

Addressing the gathering, Dr. K. P. Mahadevaswamy, CMD, NBCC, emphasised the need for collective efforts towards achieving the organisation’s vision of becoming a Maharatna company.

He encouraged employees and divisions to focus on:

  • Adopting modern technology
  • Strengthening execution capabilities
  • Maintaining financial discipline
  • Ensuring accountability
  • Improving operational performance
  • Completing projects within timelines

He also urged all divisions to work in close coordination to convert the company’s order book into execution and ensure timely completion of projects.

The Directors and CVO highlighted the need for faster project execution, higher revenue generation and continuous performance evaluation. They encouraged employees to focus on better output while maintaining quality and ensuring timely execution.

SAMVAAD Provides Platform for Ideas and Solutions

SAMVAAD serves as a platform for the exchange of ideas, discussion of challenges, identification of solutions and deliberation on policy and organisational improvements.

The 20th edition reaffirmed NBCC’s focus on:

  • Continuous learning
  • Innovation
  • Technology adoption
  • Operational excellence
  • Collaborative decision-making
  • Improved project execution

The two-day programme provided leadership and employees with an opportunity to collectively discuss NBCC’s future priorities and contribute towards the organisation’s growth trajectory.
