Gurugram: NBCC (India) Limited, a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Divya Parivar Society (IDPS), New Delhi, for the construction of the India International Cultural Centre (IICC) in Gurugram.
The proposed centre aims to preserve, promote and showcase India’s rich cultural heritage on a global platform. The MoU was signed by Dr Amit Jain, President of IDPS, and Rajeev Kumar, CGM (Engineering) and SBG Head at NBCC.
The project will be developed at Sector 9A, Gurugram, with an estimated cost of ₹26.69 crore, excluding GST. The centre will bring together cultural heritage, education, research, art and hospitality under one roof.
India International Cultural Centre to Be Built in Sector 9A, Gurugram
The India International Cultural Centre will be strategically located in Sector 9A, Gurugram, approximately 20 minutes from Indira Gandhi International Airport and close to the Dwarka Expressway.
The location is expected to provide convenient access for international delegates, artists, scholars and tourists.
Envisioned as a cultural bridge between India and the world, the centre will facilitate cultural exchanges and provide a platform for showcasing Indian traditions, knowledge systems and artistic heritage.

NBCC’s IICC Project: Cost, Area and Building Structure
The proposed India International Cultural Centre will be developed with the following specifications:
- Project location: Sector 9A, Gurugram
- Plot area: 1,260 square metres (13,562.64 square feet)
- Building structure: 3 basements + stilt + ground floor + 7 floors
- Estimated project cost: ₹26.69 crore, excluding GST
- Development partner: NBCC (India) Limited
- Project partner: International Divya Parivar Society (IDPS)
The project is designed to bring multiple cultural, educational and research facilities together within an integrated campus.
Saraswati Museum, Gurukul and Research Centre Planned
The proposed IICC will feature several facilities dedicated to India’s cultural and intellectual heritage.
Key components of the centre include:
- Saraswati Museum: A dedicated space for ancient Indian knowledge systems and manuscripts.
- Gurukul and School of Languages: Facilities to promote Sanskrit and other Indian languages.
- State-of-the-art Auditorium: A venue for cultural performances and events.
- Research Centre, Library and Archives: Resources and facilities for scholars and researchers.
- Cultural Exchange Hub: A platform for national and international cultural dialogues, workshops and residencies.
- Hospitality and Ancillary Facilities: Accommodation and support facilities for visiting artists, scholars and guests.
These facilities are intended to support cultural learning, research, artistic activities and international collaboration.
IICC to Follow Green Building Standards
Sustainability is a key feature of the proposed India International Cultural Centre.
The entire campus will be designed as a sustainable green building in accordance with GRIHA or IGBC norms.
The project’s green building approach is intended to integrate sustainability considerations into the development of this cultural institution.
Centre to Promote Indian Heritage and Global Cultural Exchange
The India International Cultural Centre is envisioned as an institution representing India’s cultural identity through heritage, education, art, literature and hospitality.
Its objectives include preserving traditional knowledge, nurturing talent, encouraging cultural dialogue and strengthening India’s cultural connections with the global community.
The centre will embody the spirit of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, highlighting the idea of the world as one family.
The project also reflects NBCC’s continued focus on developing major institutional and cultural infrastructure while supporting initiatives that promote India’s heritage and cultural presence internationally.
