NBCC Bags Rs 29.49 Crore PMC Project to Develop New Disability Rehabilitation Centre in Madurai

New Delhi: NBCC (India) Ltd has been awarded the Project Management Consultancy (PMC) contract for the development of a new Composite Regional Centre (CRC) at Pudhuppatti in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. The project, initiated by the National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities (NIEPMD), is valued at approximately Rs 29.49 crore and aims to significantly enhance rehabilitation services for persons with disabilities in the region.

Project to Strengthen Rehabilitation Services

The new CRC facility will focus on providing comprehensive rehabilitation support, including assessment, therapy, training, and outreach programs for individuals with multiple disabilities. The centre is expected to improve accessibility, promote early intervention, and offer specialized care for those in rural and semi-urban communities.

This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening disability infrastructure across India and ensuring that quality rehabilitation services reach underserved regions. Officials noted that the new CRC will serve as a model for enhancing disability care nationwide, addressing the growing demand for skilled support and facilities for persons with multiple disabilities.

Role of NBCC in the Project
