Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government is developing a spiritual tourism circuit connecting major sites associated with Neem Karoli Baba, with projects being undertaken in Firozabad, Farrukhabad and Lucknow.
According to a statement issued by the state government, ₹8.65 crore has already been spent on developing tourism facilities at Akbarpur in Firozabad, identified as the birthplace of Neem Karoli Baba.
Development Projects in Firozabad and Farrukhabad
The government said work on a second-phase project at Akbarpur, estimated at ₹2.22 crore, is more than 60 per cent complete. The project is targeted for completion by December 2026.

Other projects include:
- A ₹55.44 lakh rural tourism project at Akbarpur, which is scheduled to begin soon.
- A ₹1.51 crore project for the development of Neem Karoli Baba Ashram Dham Temple in Farrukhabad, which has already been completed.
- Tourism facilities are being developed at sites associated with Baba as part of the proposed spiritual tourism circuit.
Key Sites Under Neem Karoli Baba Circuit
According to Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh, the government is bringing major locations associated with Baba’s life and spiritual journey under the ‘Neem Karoli Baba Circuit’.
The circuit includes:
- Samadhi Temple, Vrindavan, where Baba attained Mahasamadhi in 1973.
- Akbarpur village in Firozabad, identified as his birthplace.
- Neem Karoli Baba Ashram Dham Temple in Farrukhabad.
- Hanuman Setu Temple in Lucknow.
Singh said the state government is working to preserve Baba’s legacy while developing spiritual and cultural tourism opportunities in Uttar Pradesh.
Government’s Tourism Plan
Tourism Director General Amrit Abhijat said the new circuit would add another dimension to Uttar Pradesh’s spiritual tourism network. He said bringing the major sites associated with Neem Karoli Baba together would make it easier for devotees and tourists to visit them and learn about the spiritual, cultural and local heritage associated with the sites.
The government said the development work is aimed at providing improved facilities at these locations and establishing them as organised spiritual tourism destinations.
