The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced the suspension of toll collection on a 28.71-km segment of the Amritsar–Jamnagar Expressway (NH-754K), citing ongoing rectification work. The affected portion falls under Package-4 of the Sanchore–Santalpur section, which is part of a key infrastructure corridor being built under the Bharatmala Pariyojana.

According to an official release, the toll suspension took effect at 8:00 AM on July 15, 2025, and will continue until the completion of the ongoing repair work. The move, taken in the interest of public safety and commuter convenience, is expected to ease traffic flow and reduce risks during the construction phase.

Vital Connectivity Corridor
The 125-km stretch from Sanchore (Rajasthan) to Santalpur (Patan district, Gujarat) forms an integral part of the Amritsar–Jamnagar Expressway. The corridor is designed to significantly boost interstate connectivity between India’s northern and western regions.

Strategic Importance for Trade
Once completed, the Amritsar–Jamnagar Expressway will serve as a critical trade route by providing seamless access to major ports such as Jamnagar, Kandla, and Mundra. The expressway is expected to reduce travel time and logistics costs, offering a major fillip to freight transport and international trade.

This temporary toll exemption is part of NHAI’s broader strategy to ensure that national infrastructure development does not come at the cost of public inconvenience and safety.
