Khagaria: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated and laid the foundation for a total of 319 development projects worth ₹304 crore in Khagaria district during his Samriddhi Yatra. The event, held at Sansarapur Maidan in the municipal area, highlighted the state government’s commitment to accelerating infrastructure, connectivity, and welfare initiatives across the district.
Breakdown of Projects: Inaugurations and Foundations
During the event, 284 projects worth ₹261 crore were inaugurated, while the foundations of 35 new projects costing ₹43 crore were laid. The initiatives cover diverse sectors, including road infrastructure, bridges, flood management, healthcare, and sports facilities, aimed at boosting connectivity, public services, and community development in Khagaria.

Inspection of Ongoing Projects and Progress Review
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inspected ongoing projects such as the elevation work of the municipal security bund near Arun Middle School and reviewed progress on previously announced development schemes. Key projects under progress include:
- Railway crossing path from Rajendra Chowk to Bakhri Bus Stand
- RCC bridge over Bagmati River in Alouli
- Maheshkhunt-Gogri bypass road
- Outdoor stadium in Beldour
- Medical college
- Anti-flood sluice gates
- Bridge over Budhi Gandak River
Officials were instructed to ensure that all projects are completed on time and with high-quality standards, benefiting residents with better infrastructure, time and fuel savings, and enhanced safety.
Distribution of Benefits to Citizens
During the program, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also distributed assistance to beneficiaries under various schemes:
- Livelihood Scheme: ₹4.98 crore symbolic checks to 1,245 families
- Campaign Basera: Land settlement certificates provided
- Disabled Welfare: Tricycles distributed to differently-abled individuals
- Labor Welfare & Custom Hiring Centers: Keys and support provided to beneficiaries
The event also highlighted the role of women in livelihood programs, with Chief Minister appreciating Jeevika Didis for empowering communities and contributing to Bihar’s socio-economic development.

Several projects announced during the Samriddhi Yatra are expected to improve regional connectivity and support economic growth:
- Gadh Ghat Bridge on Bagmati River: Facilitates smoother transportation

- Bridge on Budhi Gandak River: Improves connectivity up to Rahimpur Bypass
- Outdoor Stadium in Beldour: Provides sports facilities for youth
- Reinforced Municipal Security Bund: Reduces flood risk
