Mumbai: NTPC Western Region-I Headquarters organised the Mumbai Regional Round of the NTPC Electron Quiz 2026-27 at Bharat Ratnam – Mega CFC, Andheri East, Mumbai. The event brought together 36 teams from leading engineering and management institutions across Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Goa.
The quiz focused on the theme “Anything and Everything from the World of Business and Management”, encouraging students to strengthen their knowledge of business, leadership, markets, corporate strategy, entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainability.
36 Teams Participate in Mumbai Regional Round
The regional round witnessed enthusiastic participation from students representing reputed institutions across four states.
The competition was designed to promote:
- Knowledge and analytical skills
- Leadership and teamwork
- Awareness of business and management trends
- Understanding of entrepreneurship and innovation
- Healthy competitive spirit among young students
The event also provided students with an opportunity to test their knowledge in a competitive environment and interact with peers from other institutions.

Written Round Followed by Multimedia Final
The competition began with an on-the-spot written round, in which all 36 participating teams attempted a questionnaire based on the quiz theme.
Following the written round, the top six teams qualified for the multimedia on-stage final. The final included:
- Audio-visual questions
- Rapid-fire rounds
- Buzzer-based questions
- Business and management-related questions
The intense final tested the participants’ knowledge, speed, analytical ability and teamwork.
NTPC Officials Highlight Importance of Youth Engagement
Senior NTPC officials attended the event, including Nirbhay Gupta, Executive Director (Nuclear).
Addressing the participants, Gupta said the enthusiasm shown by young students reflected their interest in knowledge, business and innovation. He also highlighted NTPC’s commitment to creating platforms that promote intelligence, leadership and healthy competition among youth.
Anil Kumar Chawla, Regional Head of HR (West-I) & GM (HR), Nuclear, said the Electron Quiz reflects NTPC’s belief that empowering young people is an important part of nation-building.
He added that the initiative promotes learning, collaboration and the potential of young students.
Gautam Bose Conducts NTPC Electron Quiz
The Mumbai regional round was conducted by noted quiz master Gautam Bose, founder of Greycells and an internationally recognised knowledge professional.
His role added an engaging and competitive format to the quiz, with participants taking part in multiple rounds designed to test their knowledge and quick thinking.
SPJIMR Mumbai Team Wins First Prize
After an intense final, Sanidhy Singh Raghuwanshi and Dev Khemani of SPJIMR, Mumbai emerged as the winners of the Mumbai Regional Round.
The winners and runners-up received the following prizes:
- First: Sanidhy Singh Raghuwanshi and Dev Khemani, SPJIMR, Mumbai — ₹60,000
- Second: Ishaan Jayant Yewale and Rushab Gokul Jain Khivasara, Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies — ₹40,000
- Third: Shagun Srivastava and Johan Sam Biju, IIT Bombay — ₹20,000
The first- and second-place teams will now represent NTPC Western Region-I at the National Level of the NTPC Electron Quiz.
NTPC Electron Quiz Organised Since 2004
The NTPC Electron Quiz has been organised since 2004 and is among NTPC’s flagship initiatives for engaging with students.
Over the years, the initiative has focused on encouraging:
- Knowledge and learning
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Teamwork and collaboration
- Competitive spirit
- Awareness of contemporary business and management developments
The 2026-27 edition continues this focus by providing students with a platform to demonstrate their knowledge and compete at regional and national levels.
