New Delhi: NTPC Green Energy Limited (NTPC Green Energy) has declared commercial operation of an additional 56.7 MW of wind power capacity in Gujarat through its subsidiary NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL). The commercial operation of the two capacities became effective from 00:00 hrs on September 22, 2026.
The newly declared capacity comprises 6.3 MW at the Vanki Wind Energy Project in Nakhatrana, Kutch, and 50.4 MW at the Jamjodhpur Wind Energy Project in Jamnagar.
With the addition of these capacities, the installed capacity of the NTPC Green Energy group has increased from 10,920.53 MW to 10,977.23 MW.
56.7 MW Wind Capacity Declared Commercially Operational
The latest commissioning covers capacities from two wind energy projects in Gujarat:
- Vanki Wind Energy Project, Nakhatrana, Kutch: 6.3 MW, representing the fourth part capacity of the project.
- Jamjodhpur Wind Energy Project, Jamnagar: 50.4 MW, representing the first part capacity of the project.
Both capacities are part of the 1,050 MW wind component under the 500 MW REMCL RTC Project.
The projects are being developed through NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a step-down subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy.

NTPC Green Energy Group Capacity Rises to 10,977.23 MW
The latest commercial operation declaration has further increased the group’s overall installed capacity.
The capacity position is as follows:
- Previous installed capacity: 10,920.53 MW
- New wind capacity added: 56.7 MW
- Current installed capacity: 10,977.23 MW
The company has made the disclosure under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Regulations.
Vanki Wind Project Sees Another Capacity Addition
The latest 6.3 MW commercial operation declaration is another phase of the Vanki Wind Energy Project located in Nakhatrana, Kutch, Gujarat.
Earlier, the third part capacity of 9.45 MW of the same project was declared commercially operational with effect from September 19, 2026.
The phased commissioning of the Vanki project reflects the continued development of NTPC Green Energy’s renewable power portfolio in Gujarat.
Recent Renewable Energy Milestones in Gujarat
The latest wind capacity additions follow other recent commercial operation milestones by NTPC Green Energy and its subsidiaries.
The third phase of the 200 MW Dahod Solar Project in Gujarat, comprising 68.22 MW, was declared commercially operational with effect from July 23, 2026.
The commercial operation declaration followed a certificate issued by the Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA) dated September 17, 2026.
The recent commissioning activities highlight the phased expansion of NTPC Green Energy’s solar and wind power portfolio across Gujarat.
Focus on Wind and Renewable Energy Expansion
The addition of 56.7 MW further strengthens NTPC Green Energy’s presence in the renewable energy sector, particularly in wind power.
The Vanki and Jamjodhpur projects form part of a larger wind development programme under the REMCL RTC Project, with their capacities being commissioned in phases.
With the latest additions, NTPC Green Energy continues to expand its renewable generation portfolio while increasing the overall installed capacity of the NTPC group.
