Rajasthan: NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has successfully commissioned an additional 50 MW solar power capacity in Rajasthan, further strengthening its renewable energy portfolio. With this addition, the group’s total installed capacity has risen to 10,671.40 MW, according to a regulatory filing submitted to the NSE and BSE.
The development marks another important step in India’s ongoing expansion of clean and sustainable energy infrastructure.
New Solar Capacity to Begin Commercial Operations on June 14, 2026
The newly commissioned 50 MW solar project in Rajasthan will officially commence commercial operations from 00:00 hours on June 14, 2026.
Prior to this addition, the NTPC Green Energy Group’s operational capacity stood at 10,621.40 MW. With the new commissioning, the capacity has increased to 10,671.40 MW, reinforcing the company’s growing presence in India’s renewable energy sector.
Part of Larger 300 MW Solar Development Project
The 50 MW capacity forms part of a larger 300 MW solar component under a 200 MW Renewable Energy Round-The-Clock (RTC) project.
This phase represents the third stage of a cumulative 250 MW solar installation, highlighting the phased development approach being adopted for large-scale renewable energy deployment.
The project is being developed by Project Sixteen Renewable Power Private Limited, a step-down subsidiary of ONGC NTPC Green Private Limited, a joint venture between ONGC and NTPC Green Energy.
