New Delhi: NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NREL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has invited domestic competitive bids for the Balance of System (BoS) package of its 110 MW Wind Energy Project at Khavda, Gujarat.
The tender aims to select contractors for critical infrastructure works required for the development and commissioning of the wind energy project.
The Invitation for Bids (IFB No. NRE-CS-5779-003(BOS)-9) was issued on July 16, 2026, and includes a wide range of engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
Scope of Work Under NREL’s Khavda Wind Project Tender
The selected bidder will be responsible for various BoS-related activities, including:
- Design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of the 33 kV overhead transmission network.
- Development of internal access roads to wind turbine locations.
- Installation of Static VAR Generators (SVGs).
- Installation of harmonic filters.
- Integration of Power Plant Controller (PPC) systems.
These works are essential for ensuring efficient power evacuation and smooth operation of the wind energy facility.

NREL will conduct the tender through a Single Stage Two-Envelope bidding process.

- Pre-Bid Conference: July 27, 2026
- Last Date for Bid Submission: August 10, 2026
- Opening of Techno-Commercial Bids: August 10, 2026
- Bid Security Amount: ₹50 lakh
The tender documents are available free of cost, while bidders must submit the bid security separately in the prescribed format.
Technical Eligibility Criteria for Bidders
NREL has specified technical qualification requirements for interested bidders.
To qualify, bidders must have successfully completed:
- Design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of at least 25 kilometres of 33 kV or higher voltage overhead transmission lines.
- The qualifying projects must have been operational for at least one year before the techno-commercial bid opening date.
- The required experience should have been achieved through a maximum of two contracts.
These requirements are aimed at ensuring participation from experienced contractors with expertise in high-voltage transmission infrastructure.
Financial Eligibility Requirements
Along with technical qualifications, bidders must also meet financial criteria.
Eligible companies are required to demonstrate:
- Minimum average annual turnover of ₹40.78 crore during the previous three financial years.
The financial eligibility criteria are intended to ensure that selected contractors have adequate financial capability to execute the project successfully.
