New Delhi: NTPC Renewable Energy Limited has commenced commercial electricity supply of 130.47 MW from its 1,255 MW Khavda-I Solar PV Project in Gujarat, marking another milestone in India’s renewable energy expansion. The commercial operation began at 00:00 hours on January 29, 2026, according to a regulatory filing.
The newly commissioned capacity represents the tenth phase of the Khavda-I project and is being developed under the CPSU Scheme Phase-II, Tranche-III.
Boost to NTPC Green Energy Capacity
With the addition of 130.47 MW, the total installed commercial capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Group has increased to 8,478.25 MW, up from 8,347.78 MW earlier.
Officials said the phased commissioning of the Khavda-I project reflects NTPC’s focus on timely execution and scaling up renewable energy generation in line with national clean energy goals.
