Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has announced a minor reshuffle in the state bureaucracy, relieving senior IAS officer Vir Vikram Yadav to enable him to take up a new assignment at the Centre.
Mr Yadav, a 1996-batch IAS officer who was serving as Principal Secretary to the Works Department, has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), Government of India.
In his place, Sanjay Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary to the Rural Development Department, will assume charge as the new Principal Secretary to the Works Department. Singh, a 1997-batch officer, has also been assigned additional responsibilities as Principal Secretary to the Information and Public Relations Department, as well as the Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department, according to a notification issued by the General Administration Department.
Further, Yamini Sarangi, a 2008-batch IAS officer, will replace Singh as Principal Secretary to the Rural Development Department. She will continue in her current roles as Commissioner of Commercial Taxes and GST, with the additional charge of Special Secretary to the Finance Department.
These appointments aim to ensure administrative continuity and efficiency as the state government advances its developmental priorities.
