Odisha Lokayukta Ajit Singh ordered a probe against senior IAS officer Bishnupada Sethi in a medical bill reimbursements case. The Lokayukta asked its director of inquiry to find whether the revenue secretary, Bishnupedi Sethi, misutilised his power to reimburse his father and wife’s medical bills from Odisha State Cooperative Bank. Sethi was management-in-charge between 2013 and 2015.
The lokayukta ordered to complete the probe within 60 days if sethi was entitled to reimburse the medical bills of his father and wife’s treatment from the state cooperative bank, while holding its additional charge.
“We are of the view that there is a serious dispute regarding entitlement of reimbursement of the medical bills and the drawing of the honorarium by the officer,” the Lokayukta said in its order.
