Over a career spanning more than 13 years, he has handled a range of administrative assignments across Andhra Pradesh, including district administration, revenue, health, energy, agriculture and public service commission-related responsibilities.

From APPSC Secretary to Tourism Leadership

Before his latest appointment, IAS Subash was serving as Secretary, Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission.

His tenure at APPSC came after a series of administrative assignments at both the district and state levels.

In March 2026, while serving as APPSC Secretary, he was also entrusted with the full additional charge of Director of Agriculture and Marketing.

His latest posting now moves him into the state’s tourism administration, placing him simultaneously at the helm of APTDC and APTA.

Key Role in Andhra Pradesh Tourism

As MD of APTDC and CEO of APTA, Mr Subash will be responsible for driving several aspects of Andhra Pradesh’s tourism development.

His responsibilities are expected to include strengthening tourism infrastructure, improving facilities for visitors, promoting the state’s tourism destinations and supporting institutional measures to expand the tourism ecosystem.

The appointment comes as Andhra Pradesh seeks to further develop its tourism potential by combining infrastructure development with strategic destination promotion.

With APTDC and APTA under his charge, Ravi Subash will play a key role in coordinating the state’s tourism development efforts and translating policy objectives into projects and initiatives on the ground.

Earlier Assignment as Anakapalli Collector

One of the significant field assignments in IAS Subash’s career was his tenure as Collector and District Magistrate of Anakapalli district.

He served in the post for around two years and nine months, giving him extensive experience in district-level administration and implementation of government programmes.

During his tenure in Anakapalli, he was also recognised for his efforts towards promoting Swasth Bharat through Health and Wellness Centres in the district.

The recognition highlighted his work in strengthening healthcare initiatives and promoting the effective use of Health and Wellness Centres.

Experience Across Health, Energy and Revenue Departments

Ravi Subash has held several other important positions during his career.

His assignments have included serving as Deputy Secretary in the Health and Family Welfare Department in Vijayawada, where he worked on matters relating to the state’s health administration.

He has also handled responsibilities in the Energy and Revenue Departments, giving him experience across multiple areas of state governance.

At the district level, he served as Additional District Magistrate in Kurnool and also worked as Joint Collector (Revenue Bonds & Rehabilitation), Kurnool.

The breadth of these assignments has given him experience in both developmental administration and institutional management.

His move to APTDC and APTA now adds tourism administration to this diverse portfolio.

Focus on Tourism Infrastructure and Promotion

In his new role, he is expected to focus on strengthening Andhra Pradesh’s tourism ecosystem through better infrastructure, strategic promotion and institutional initiatives.

Andhra Pradesh has a diverse tourism profile encompassing its coastline, religious and heritage destinations, nature and wildlife attractions and other cultural assets.

The APTDC and APTA leadership role will therefore require coordination between tourism infrastructure development, destination management, investment facilitation and promotional activities.

His administrative experience at the district and state levels is expected to be relevant as the state works to improve tourism facilities and promote Andhra Pradesh as a destination for domestic and international visitors.

New Assignment Adds to Andhra Pradesh’s Tourism Push

The appointment of Ravi Subash comes with the tourism sector gaining increasing importance as a potential driver of economic activity, employment and regional development.

By placing both the APTDC managing director and APTA CEO responsibilities with the same officer, the state government has created an opportunity for closer coordination between the corporation’s operational activities and the authority’s broader tourism policy and development functions.

Ravi Subash’s experience in district administration, departmental governance and public-sector institutions will now be brought to bear on the state’s tourism priorities.

With his new responsibilities, the 2013-batch IAS officer is expected to play a key role in advancing Andhra Pradesh’s tourism potential and strengthening the state’s tourism infrastructure and promotional framework.
