Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government late Thursday evening transferred nine IPS officers, including the police chiefs of seven districts, in a major police reshuffle.
The transfers affect several important districts, including Barabanki, Gonda, Sultanpur, Meerut, Sambhal, Bijnor, Jhansi, Balrampur and Hardoi.
Among the prominent changes, Vikas Chandra Tripathi, who was serving as the police chief of Barabanki, has been transferred to Sambhal. Gonda SP Vineet Jaiswal has been shifted to Sultanpur, while Meerut SSP Avinash Pandey has been attached to Police Headquarters.
The reshuffle also brings new police chiefs to Meerut, Bijnor, Gonda, Jhansi and Balrampur.
Vikas Chandra Tripathi Gets Sambhal
Vikas Chandra Tripathi, who was serving as the police chief of Barabanki, has been transferred and assigned the command of Sambhal.
His transfer is among the key changes in the latest UP Police reshuffle, which has resulted in several district police leadership positions being changed.

Gonda SP Vineet Jaiswal Shifted to Sultanpur
Vineet Jaiswal, who was serving as Gonda police chief, has been transferred to Sultanpur.
Jaiswal will now take charge of the Sultanpur police administration as part of the latest round of district-level postings.
Charu Nigam Moved to UP-112
Charu Nigam, who was previously holding a district police chief position, has been moved from field duty.
She has now been appointed Superintendent of Police, UP-112, the state’s emergency response service.
Her new assignment shifts her from district policing to a specialised statewide policing and emergency response role.
Meerut SSP Avinash Pandey Attached to Police Headquarters
A significant change has been made in Meerut, where Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Avinash Pandey has been attached to Police Headquarters.
Pandey’s removal from the district comes as part of the broader reshuffle involving several district police chiefs.
Meanwhile, BBGTS Murthy, who was previously posted in Jhansi, has been appointed as the new police chief of Meerut.
New Police Chiefs for Gonda, Bijnor and Jhansi
The reshuffle has also resulted in changes at the top of the police administration in several other districts.
Bijnor SP Abhishek has been transferred to Gonda, where he will take charge as the district police chief.
Similarly, Vikas Kumar, who was posted in Balrampur, has been appointed SSP of Jhansi.
In another key posting, Krishna Kumar, who was serving in Sambhal, has been transferred and appointed as the police chief of Bijnor.
Martand Prakash Singh Gets Balrampur
Martand Prakash Singh, who was previously posted in Hardoi, has been appointed as the police chief of Balrampur.
The posting completes another significant change in the district-level police leadership under the latest reshuffle.

The latest order covers nine IPS officers, with district police leadership changes forming the core of the reshuffle.
