New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has not recommended any candidate for the post of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Yantra India Limited after conducting interviews in its selection meeting held on May 16, 2026.
The board has advised the administrative ministry to explore alternative appointment mechanisms, including the Search-cum-Selection Committee (SCSC) route, to fill the vacant top post.

The selection interview for the CMD post of Yantra India Limited was conducted at 9:00 AM as part of PESB Meeting No. 38/2026.

- Mr. Shiva Shankar Prasad – Chief General Manager
Despite evaluating all shortlisted officials, PESB concluded that none met the requirements for the CMD position.
PESB Advises Alternative Selection Process
Following the outcome, PESB recommended that the administrative ministry take appropriate action for the next round of selection.
Possible options include:
- Formation of a Search-cum-Selection Committee (SCSC)
- Any other suitable method approved by the competent authority
- Fresh selection process under Department of Defence Production
The move aims to ensure the appointment of a suitable candidate for the crucial leadership role.
