New Delhi: The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has launched an ambitious initiative to restore 101 water bodies across the capital by August 30, 2026, under the Jal Sanchay Abhiyaan. The project focuses on ecological revival, groundwater recharge, and long-term water security for the city.

Mission-Mode Restoration of Delhi’s Water Bodies
Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu inaugurated the project at District Park, Paschim Vihar, emphasizing a mission-mode approach for timely completion.
Key focus areas of the restoration project include:
- Deep desilting of water bodies
- Catchment area cleaning and improvement
- Enhancing groundwater recharge during monsoon
- Ecological revival of degraded water bodies
Officials have been directed to strictly adhere to deadlines and maintain high execution standards across all sites.
