New Delhi: The NMDC Vigilance Department conducted a Capacity Building Session on September 10, 2026, aimed at strengthening knowledge and awareness of modern public procurement practices. The programme featured expert sessions on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM), public procurement, contract management, and cyber security and hygiene.
The initiative was organised as part of NMDC’s efforts to promote continuous learning and strengthen systems related to transparent, efficient and accountable procurement.
NMDC Capacity Building Session Focuses on Modern Procurement
The session featured expert discussions covering important aspects of public procurement and the latest developments in the GeM platform.

The programme featured expert sessions by senior professionals with extensive experience in government procurement and public sector management.
Mr. Kanwalpreet, IRSS, Additional CEO, GeM, conducted the session on “GeM – New Features & Functionalities”. The discussion focused on recent developments on the Government e-Marketplace and how its functionalities can support more efficient and transparent procurement.
The session on Public Procurement was delivered by Mr. Mukesh Kumar Singh, Former CMD, IRCON and Professor, AJNIFM. He shared insights into contemporary procurement practices and related aspects of effective public sector procurement.
NMDC Leadership Highlights Transparency and Good Governance
The inaugural session was graced by Mr. Joydeep Das Gupta, Director (Production), NMDC, and Mr. C. Neelakanta Reddy, Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), NMDC.
The participation of senior NMDC officials highlighted the organisation’s focus on strengthening vigilance mechanisms and promoting ethical and transparent systems.
The programme aimed to enhance vigilance awareness and encourage greater understanding of integrity, accountability and transparency across the organisation.
