New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Mr. Salil Kumar Nag, General Manager (Mining), Hindustan Copper Limited, for appointment as Director (Technical) at Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL). The recommendation was made following a selection meeting held on 22 June 2026, where several senior PSU executives were interviewed.
The appointment will now be subject to approval by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
Multiple Senior PSU Executives Interviewed for UCIL Top Post
The PESB selection process saw participation from senior officials representing multiple Public Sector Undertakings and government departments. Candidates were interviewed from organizations including UCIL, Hindustan Copper Limited, MOIL Limited, NLC India Limited, and the Department of Atomic Energy.

PESB Selects Salil Kumar Nag for Key Technical Leadership Role
After evaluating the candidates, the PESB recommended Salil Kumar Nag for the board-level position of Director (Technical) at UCIL.

- Strengthening technical development
- Improving operational efficiency
The position plays a critical role in uranium production activities under the Department of Atomic Energy.
Appointment Subject to ACC Approval
The final appointment will be made after approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), which oversees senior-level government postings in Public Sector Enterprises.
The PESB recommendation marks an important step in the leadership appointment process at UCIL, which is responsible for strategic uranium mining operations in India. The final decision now rests with the ACC.
