New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Vasudha Chandra Suratkal, Chief General Manager (Mining, ME) at KIOCL Limited, for the post of Managing Director (MD) of Orissa Mineral Development Company Limited (OMDC), a Schedule B public sector undertaking (PSU).
The recommendation was made on September 11, 2026, following the interview of four candidates for the top management position. The post of Managing Director at OMDC is currently vacant.
Vasudha Chandra Suratkal Recommended for OMDC MD Post
PESB selected Vasudha Chandra Suratkal as the recommended candidate for the position of Managing Director of OMDC.
Suratkal currently serves as Chief General Manager (Mining, ME), KIOCL Limited. His selection follows a competitive interview process conducted by PESB.
The appointment will be subject to the completion of requisite clearances and approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
Once the required approvals are received, Suratkal is expected to take charge as the new Managing Director of OMDC.

Four Candidates Interviewed for OMDC Managing Director Post
According to the PESB selection process, four candidates were interviewed for the Managing Director position.
The candidates included:
- Akhandalamani Behera – General Manager (Vigilance)-I/C & HOD, RINL
- KVSLN Sastry – General Manager (Mech) SP, RINL
- Vasudha Chandra Suratkal – Chief General Manager (Mining, ME), KIOCL Limited
- Puvvula Sai Srinivas – General Manager (Commercial), NMDC Limited
Following the interviews, PESB recommended Vasudha Chandra Suratkal for the OMDC Managing Director post.
