Kochi: Petronet LNG Limited (PLL) has inaugurated “Urja Udyan,” a newly developed landscaped garden spread across approximately 4,200 sq. metres opposite the Prerna Building at the Kochi LNG Terminal.
PLL MD & CEO Akshay Kumar Singh inaugurated the garden as part of the company’s efforts to enhance the visual appeal and ambience of its terminal premises while creating a greener and more people-friendly space for employees and visitors.
Urja Udyan Features Diverse Greenery
The landscaped garden features a wide variety of trees, shrubs and ground-covering plants.
The tree varieties include Filicium decipiens, Plumeria alba and Clusia rosea, while the shrub plantation includes Finger Aralia, Thuja and Schefflera varieties.
Ground-covering plants such as Kyoto Grass, Arachis pintoi and Ipomoea batatas have also been incorporated. Pearl Grass and Mexican Grass further add to the garden’s green landscape.
Fountains, Pathways and Seating Areas Added
The garden has been designed with features aimed at providing comfortable spaces for relaxation and interaction.
It includes:
- Three fountains
- Refurbished pathways
- Designated seating areas
- Warm illumination for the evening hours
- A variety of trees, shrubs and ground-covering plants
The lighting adds to the ambience of the garden and creates an inviting environment during the evening.
Senior Officials Attend Inauguration
The inauguration was attended by senior officials and colleagues from the Kochi LNG Terminal.
Those present included Pramod Narang, Director (Technical), Saurav Mitra, Director (Finance) & CFO, and Mithilesh Singh, CGM & VP (Plant Head), Kochi LNG Terminal.
Urja Udyan Highlights PLL’s Sustainability Focus
The development of Urja Udyan reflects Petronet LNG’s continued focus on creating greener, sustainable and people-centric spaces across its operations.
The landscaped area is intended to improve the surroundings of the Kochi LNG Terminal while providing employees and visitors with a dedicated green space for relaxation and interaction.
