PR Society Delhi Elects New Governing Board Unopposed for 2026–2028 Term on National PR Day

The PR Society, Delhi (PRSD), a leading platform for public relations and corporate communication professionals in the national capital, has announced its new Governing Board for the 2026–2028 term. The board was elected unopposed and formally introduced during the National Public Relations Day celebrations at the Press Club of India.

The announcement was made by the Returning Officer in the presence of senior industry leaders, communication experts, and young professionals, reflecting strong consensus and trust within the PR community.

Experienced Leadership Takes Charge

The newly constituted Governing Board will be chaired by G.S. Bawa, a seasoned communication strategist who previously served as general secretary of PRSD. His elevation marks continuity in leadership and strategic direction.

The key office-bearers include the following:

  • Dr. Jyoti Kumar – Secretary (Chief General Manager, Corporate Communications, GAIL India Ltd.)
  • Rama Vijay – Vice Chairman (Former GM, Corporate Communications, REC Ltd.)
  • Dr. Akshat Chopra – Joint Secretary (Deputy Manager, Corporate Communications, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.)
  • Vipin Kharbanda – Treasurer

The team brings together extensive experience across public sector enterprises, corporate communications, and policy engagement.

Vision Focused on Excellence and Future-Readiness

Addressing the gathering, Chairman G.S. Bawa emphasised the need to adapt to the rapidly evolving communication landscape shaped by digital platforms and artificial intelligence.

Key priorities outlined by the new board:

  • Professional Excellence: Organizing knowledge forums and thought leadership sessions
  • Enhanced Engagement: Conducting masterclasses and industry-academia collaborations
  • Youth Enablement: Providing mentoring, internships, and skill-building opportunities

Secretary Dr. Jyoti Kumar highlighted the growing importance of ethical communication and continuous upskilling in a fast-paced media environment. He noted that PRSD will focus on creating interactive platforms for learning, collaboration, and leadership development.
