New Delhi: The Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) has officially launched the second edition of its Advanced Global Leadership Program (AGLP 2.0) in collaboration with IIM Calcutta, aimed at developing globally competent leadership in India’s Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs).

AGLP 2.0 Inaugurated in Kolkata

The inaugural session of AGLP 2.0 was held at IIM Calcutta, attended by Shri Atul Sobti, Director General, SCOPE & Member of the ILO Governing Body. He was joined by Prof. R. Rajesh Babu, Dean (Executive Education), along with Prof. Prashant Mishra and Prof. Biswatosh Saha, the Program Directors from IIM Calcutta.

Diverse Participation from 13 PSEs

The leadership program has attracted 38 senior executives from 13 leading PSEs, representing a wide range of industries including energy, infrastructure, finance, and manufacturing – highlighting the cross-sectoral focus of the initiative.

Three-Week Format with Global Exposure

AGLP 2.0 is designed as an intensive three-week leadership journey, combining

  • High-impact workshops at IIM Calcutta and SCOPE, New Delhi
  • An International Study-cum-Business Tour, offering global insights and exposure to best practices in public sector governance and innovation

Focus on Strategic, Adaptive & Global Leadership

In his address, Shri Atul Sobti emphasized the pivotal role of leadership in transforming public enterprises. He noted –

“Leadership is the cornerstone of innovation and operational excellence in PSEs. With AGLP 2.0, we aim to equip future leaders with strategic foresight, adaptability, and a global perspective.”

Prof. Rajesh Babu of IIM Calcutta echoed this sentiment, reiterating the institution’s commitment to executive education and its successful collaboration with SCOPE in nurturing visionary leaders.

Creating Future-Ready Board-Level Leaders

AGLP 2.0 is tailored to develop a unique cadre of Board-level leaders who can navigate volatile global environments while aligning with national objectives such as Atmanirbhar Bharat, digital transformation, ESG standards, and sustainable development.
