Puducherry: The Puducherry government on Monday, October 12, 2026, issued transfer and posting orders for four Indian Police Service (IPS) officers of the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre, with immediate effect.
The administrative reshuffle includes the transfer of a senior police officer within the Puducherry administration and fresh postings for three other IPS officers who have either reported for duty or completed their basic training.
As part of the changes, 2014-batch IPS officer Rajinder Kumar Gupta has been appointed Senior Superintendent of Police (Headquarters), while 2018-batch IPS officer Deepika has been posted as Senior Superintendent of Police (Anti-Narcotics Task Force and Coastal Security).
The government has also assigned new responsibilities to IPS officers Sikandar Singh and Anurag Chopra in the Training and Welfare and Cyber units, respectively.

He has now been posted as Senior Superintendent of Police (Headquarters), Puducherry.
In his new assignment, Gupta will serve in the police headquarters establishment, which plays an important role in administrative coordination and the functioning of the police organisation.
His transfer also creates a vacancy in the Training and Welfare wing, which has been filled through the posting of another IPS officer under the same order.

Deepika, a 2018-batch IPS officer belonging to the AGMUT cadre, has been appointed Senior Superintendent of Police (Anti-Narcotics Task Force and Coastal Security), Puducherry.
The posting follows her reporting for duty in the Puducherry administration.
Her new assignment covers two important areas of policing: anti-narcotics enforcement and coastal security.
The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) focuses on combating drug-related offences, while coastal security involves policing and security coordination in coastal areas.
The appointment places Deepika in charge of a portfolio involving specialised law enforcement and security responsibilities.

Sikandar Singh, a 2022-batch IPS officer of the AGMUT cadre, has been posted as Senior Superintendent of Police (Training & Welfare), Puducherry.
The appointment has been made following his reporting for duty in the Puducherry administration.
Singh will take over the portfolio previously held by Rajinder Kumar Gupta, who has been transferred to the Headquarters wing.
The Training and Welfare unit is associated with police personnel training, professional development and welfare-related administrative matters.
His posting is part of the government’s effort to fill key positions through the latest administrative order.
Anurag Chopra Appointed SP Cyber After Completing Basic Training
Anurag Chopra, a 2024-batch IPS officer of the AGMUT cadre, has been appointed Superintendent of Police (Cyber), Puducherry.
