Punjab: 8 IPS Officers Transferred, Harmanbir Singh Made DIG Jalandhar

The government of Punjab has transferred eight IPS officers across the state. According to the orders, Mr. Kuldeep Chahal (2009 batch IPS) and Mr. Swapan Sharma (2009 batch IPS) were brought back as the Commissioners of Police of Ludhiana and Jalandhar, respectively. The two officers had been transferred from their places of posting by the Election Commission when the model code of conduct for the June 1st election was imposed.

Mr. Nilabh Kishore (1998 batch IPS), was transferred as the additional director general of police (ADGP), special task force (STF), Chandigarh, and Mr. Rahul S (2008 batch IPS), was transferred as director of Vigilance Bureau.

Dr. S Boopathi (2007 batch IPS), presently posted as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Jalandhar Range, has been transferred as DIG, Administration, Chandigarh, against a vacant post, while Mr. Harmanbir Singh (2010 batch IPS) will join in Mr. Boopathi’s old post.

Mr. Ajay Maluja (2009 batch IPS), DIG, STF Bathinda, has been transferred as DIG of Ferozepur, while Mr. Gagan Ajit Singh (PPS officer), SSP with the Sadak Suraksha Force, has been relinquished of the charge of the 2nd Commando Battalion, Bahadurgarh.
