CM Bhagwant Mann to Release Financial Aid to 35.5 Lakh Women Under Mukh Mantri Mawan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana 

The Punjab government will transfer monthly financial assistance directly into the bank accounts of 35.5 lakh women through DBT, taking the total number of beneficiaries under the scheme to 68.5 lakh across the state.

Pathankot: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann will distribute financial assistance to 35.5 lakh women under the Mukh Mantri Mawan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana at a special event in Pathankot on Saturday. The financial support will be transferred directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.

The welfare scheme is one of the Punjab government’s flagship initiatives aimed at providing monthly financial assistance to eligible women across the state. With this latest disbursement, the total number of beneficiaries under the scheme will increase to 68.5 lakh women.

35.5 Lakh Women to Receive Financial Assistance

The Punjab government will release the latest instalment of financial assistance to 35.5 lakh eligible women under the Mukh Mantri Mawan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana.

Officials said the amount will be credited directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts through the DBT mechanism, ensuring transparency and timely delivery of benefits.

Before this instalment:

  • 33 lakh women had already received financial assistance under the scheme.
  • After the latest release, the total number of beneficiaries will reach 68.5 lakh women across Punjab.

Monthly Financial Support for Eligible Women

Under the scheme, eligible women receive monthly financial assistance based on their category.

The benefits include:

  • ₹1,000 per month for eligible women belonging to the General Category.
  • ₹1,500 per month for eligible women belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) Category.

The initiative aims to improve financial security and support women from economically weaker sections by providing regular direct income support.

Financial Assistance to Be Transferred Through DBT

The Punjab government has adopted the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system to ensure seamless and transparent distribution of financial assistance.

Key features include:

  • Direct transfer to beneficiaries’ bank accounts.
  • Faster and transparent payments.
  • Reduced delays and leakages.
  • Improved efficiency in welfare delivery.

The DBT mechanism ensures that eligible beneficiaries receive financial assistance without intermediaries.

Mawan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana Launched in 2026

The Mukh Mantri Mawan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana was announced by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on March 8, 2026, coinciding with International Women’s Day, as part of the Punjab Budget 2026-27.

The scheme was introduced to strengthen women’s financial independence by providing monthly monetary assistance to eligible beneficiaries across the state.

Punjab Allocates ₹9,300 Crore for the Scheme

The Punjab government has earmarked ₹9,300 crore for implementing the welfare programme.

Key highlights of the scheme include:

  • Budget allocation of ₹9,300 crore.
  • Target to benefit nearly 90 lakh women across Punjab.
  • Monthly financial assistance through DBT.
  • Focus on women’s financial empowerment and social security.

The initiative is expected to become one of the state’s largest women-centric welfare programmes.

The Mukh Mantri Mawan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana reflects the Punjab government’s commitment to improving the financial well-being of women through direct income support.

By providing monthly financial assistance, the scheme aims to enhance economic security, promote financial inclusion and empower women across the state. With the latest instalment benefiting 35.5 lakh women, the total number of beneficiaries will rise to 68.5 lakh, moving closer to the government’s goal of supporting nearly 90 lakh women in Punjab.
