Chandigarh: The Punjab government has approved no objection certificates (NOCs) for four state cadre IAS officers seeking deputation to the Centre, officials confirmed on Thursday. The officers include Mr Tejveer Singh (1994 batch), Mr Dileep Kumar (1995), Mr Varun Roojam (2004), and Mr Sibin C (2005).
A government official said that with the NOCs issued, these officers are expected to receive their central posting orders in the coming weeks. Ms Shruti Singh (2004 batch) has already joined the Centre as joint secretary in the Information and Broadcasting Department.
Officers Still Awaiting Postings
Meanwhile, several other IAS officers continue to wait for fresh assignments, some for over eight months. Notable among them is Mr Gurkirat Kirpal Singh (2001 batch), who was removed as Punjab home secretary in March and has not been reassigned. Similarly, Mr Puneet Goyal (2010 batch), former director of food, remains without posting since February.
Other officers without assignments include Mr AK Sinha (1996 batch), formerly secretary (power) and CMD of PSPCL and PSTCL, and Ms Kanwalpreet Brar, removed from Punjab Warehousing Corporation earlier this year.
NOCs Previously Denied to Some Officers
The state had earlier denied NOCs to officers such as Mr Nilkanth S Avhad (1999), Ms Alakhnanda Dayal (2000), and Mr Vijay N Zade (2002). Sources also confirmed that Ms Sonali Giri has been instructed to continue in her current role.
The delay in postings has raised questions about administrative bottlenecks in managing IAS transfers, though officials maintain that central deputations are proceeding as per government protocols.
