In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Punjab Government has ordered the transfer and posting of two senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers with immediate effect. The move, issued on administrative grounds, aims to strengthen policing and streamline command structures across critical ranges in the state.

Mr. Nanak Singh Transferred as DIG Rupnagar Range
According to the official order, Mr. Nanak Singh, IPS (RR:2011), who was serving as Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Border Range, Amritsar, has been transferred and posted as DIG, Rupnagar Range, Rupnagar. He replaces Mr. H.S. Bhullar, IPS, who is currently under suspension.
Mr. Singh, a 2011-batch IPS officer, is known for his professional integrity and leadership in law enforcement. His experience in border policing is expected to strengthen law and order in the Rupnagar Range, which covers a strategically important part of Punjab.
Mr. Sandeep Goel to Look After DIG Border Range and Continue as DIG AGTF
In another key posting, Mr. Sandeep Goel, IPS (SPS:2011), who is presently serving as AIG, Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), Punjab, Ludhiana, has been assigned the additional responsibility to look after the work of DIG, Border Range, Amritsar.
He will also continue as DIG, AGTF, Punjab, vice Mr. Nanak Singh, IPS. Mr. Goel’s dual charge signifies the government’s focus on enhancing anti-gangster operations while ensuring robust policing in the sensitive border belt.

Officers Directed to Join Immediately
The Punjab Government has directed both officers to join their new places of posting immediately. The administrative reshuffle is seen as part of the state’s continued efforts to maintain operational efficiency, improve law enforcement coordination, and ensure proactive policing across Punjab’s key regions.
Such reassignments reflect the government’s dynamic approach to governance and its emphasis on deploying experienced officers in strategic roles for better public safety and administrative performance.
