Gurdaspur: In a major step to boost rural development and connectivity, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann laid the foundation for the renovation of 237 rural link roads in Kadiyan, Gurdaspur. The project, costing ₹168.44 crore, will cover 497 kilometers of roads, significantly improving transportation and accessibility in rural areas.

Improved Connectivity to Transform Rural Life

Many roads in the area had long been in poor condition, causing major difficulties for residents, farmers, traders, and students. Once completed, the renovation project will not only enhance connectivity but also solve decades-old problems for local communities.

CM Mann emphasized that previous governments had neglected border and rural areas, but the AAP government is committed to delivering development to every corner of Punjab. He highlighted the government’s mission to strengthen infrastructure, facilitate trade, and make life easier for rural residents.

Women Empowerment and Financial Support

During the event, CM Mann addressed questions regarding the ₹1,000 monthly financial support for women. He reaffirmed that the AAP government has fulfilled all promises made to the public, including this women’s welfare initiative, which provides financial relief and empowerment to women across the state.

Punjab Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO noted that opposition parties like the Congress and Shiromani Akali Dal had failed to implement similar schemes in the past, highlighting the AAP government’s clear and effective policies for public welfare.

Other Development Initiatives

CM Mann also announced several other projects to benefit the Kadiyan constituency:

  • Construction of a world-class 500-seat auditorium for trade fairs and community events.
  • Implementation of additional public welfare programs to meet local demands.
  • Ongoing commitment to ensure that all promises made during the government’s term are fulfilled.

The Chief Minister stressed that these initiatives reflect the government’s focus on grassroots development, women’s welfare, and rural infrastructure.

Political Commitment and Public Support

The event demonstrated the strong support for the AAP government in Kadiyan, with local leaders and residents showing approval for the government’s initiatives. CM Mann reiterated that due to the effective governance and developmental work, the AAP is poised to continue its governance in Punjab in 2027.
