To highlight its usefulness, the Chief Minister personally purchased items from the CSD canteen, demonstrating how it would serve the daily needs of military families in Khatima and nearby areas.

CM Launches All India Police Water Sports Championship

A day earlier, on April 8, Dhami virtually inaugurated the 25th edition of the All India Police Water Sports Cluster Championship at the Water Sports and Adventure Institute in Tehri Garhwal.

The championship, organized by the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), is being held at Wasai in Tehri from April 8 to April 12, set against the scenic backdrop of Tehri Lake.

Over 50 Competitions to Promote Sportsmanship and Unity

Speaking on the occasion, Dhami noted that the championship will feature 51 competitions across various disciplines, including rowing, canoeing, and trekking.

“I wish all the best to the teams taking part in this competition,” he said, emphasizing the importance of sports in fostering discipline, unity, and national integration.

Senior officials, including Shatrujeet Kapur, were present at the inauguration ceremony.

Boost to Adventure Sports and Police Capabilities

The event aims to showcase the capabilities of police forces in water sports while promoting adventure tourism in Uttarakhand. With its picturesque setting, Tehri Lake provides an ideal venue for such national-level competitions.

The initiative reflects the state government’s continued efforts to encourage sports, tourism, and community engagement across the region.
