Dhanbad: Mr. Rajeev Kumar Sinha, a seasoned mining professional and alumnus of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, has assumed additional charge as Director (Technical/Project & Planning) at Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL). The appointment marks an important leadership development for one of India’s most coal-producing companies.

Senior officials at BCCL welcomed his appointment and expressed confidence that his leadership will strengthen technical planning, project execution, and long-term operational efficiency.

Strong Academic Credentials and Over 30 Years of Experience

Mr. Sinha is a Mining Engineering graduate from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad and also holds an M.Tech in Environmental Science & Engineering along with a First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency.

With more than 30–34 years of experience in the coal sector, he has worked across multiple subsidiaries of Coal India Limited, including BCCL, CCL, and CMPDIL, contributing extensively to mine planning, production improvement, and sustainable mining practices.

In his new role, Mr. Sinha is expected to play a major role in strengthening BCCL’s core operations. His responsibilities will include:

  • Strengthening safety and productivity standards
  • Promoting environmentally responsible mining practices

Mr. Sinha has also taken charge at Coal Bhawan Headquarters and stated that he will work with full commitment toward the overall growth of BCCL, focusing on timely execution of projects and improved planning mechanisms. Senior officials congratulated him and expressed confidence that his experience will bring renewed momentum to the company’s future initiatives.
