Ranchi: A major infrastructure upgrade is set to transform Ranchi as the city prepares to build its first six-lane smart road at an estimated cost of ₹177 crore. The project aims to modernize urban transport and improve connectivity while integrating sustainable and pedestrian-friendly features.
The development will be executed under the Road Construction Department through the State Highway Authority of Jharkhand. The tender process has already begun, with plans to finalize it by September and commence construction later this year.

- Jagannath Temple area
- Near Jharkhand High Court
- Up to Nayasarai ROB
A total of 6.089 km will be developed into a six-lane smart road.
Additionally, a 2.12 km stretch beyond Nayasarai ROB up to the Ring Road will be widened into a two-lane road.
