Gurugram: REC Limited successfully concluded its REC Swachhata Inter-School Cricket Tournament in Gurugram on October 1, 2026. The two-day leather-ball T10 cricket tournament was organised under the nationwide Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign at Guru Dronacharya Sports Academy Cricket Ground in Sector 82, Gurugram.
The tournament brought together eight schools from across Gurugram and aimed to promote sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, youth development and awareness about cleanliness among students.
Summer Field School Emerges as Tournament Champion
Summer Field School emerged as the champion of the tournament after defeating the participating teams in the knockout competition.
DAV Public School Sector-14 reached the final and finished as the other finalist.
The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers and supporters throughout the two-day event.
Eight Gurugram Schools Participate
A total of eight schools participated in the REC Swachhata Inter-School Cricket Tournament.
The participating schools were:
- Amity International School-43
- DAV Public School Sector-14
- Raman Munjal Vidya Mandir
- Amity International School-46
- Summer Field School
- Blue Bells Model School Sector-10
- Suncity School
- Presidium School
The matches were played in a knockout format, with teams progressing through the competition based on their results before reaching the final.
Tournament Organised Under Swachhata Hi Seva 2026
The cricket tournament was organised under the Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign, a nationwide initiative focused on cleanliness and public participation.
REC’s UDAAN, Sports & Wellness Club, organised the tournament as part of the company’s community engagement activities.
The initiative combined sports with the broader objectives of the cleanliness campaign, encouraging students to develop a sense of responsibility and awareness towards cleanliness.
