Kolkata: Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. (GRSE), a Defence PSU under the Ministry of Defence, has reported a strong financial performance for the first quarter of FY26. The company posted a 38% year-on-year rise in Profit After Tax (PAT), which stood at ₹120 crore in Q1 FY26 compared to ₹87 crore in the same quarter last year.
Total income rose by 28% to ₹1,382 crore, while revenue from operations surged 30% year-on-year to ₹1,310 crore.
EBITDA and Profit Margins Improve Sharply
GRSE reported Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation, and Amortisation (EBITDA) of ₹184 crore in Q1 FY26—up 42% from ₹130 crore in Q1 FY25. Profit Before Tax (PBT) stood at ₹167 crore, marking a 45% increase compared to ₹115 crore last year.
The company’s Earnings Per Share (EPS) also increased significantly, rising to ₹10.49 from ₹7.61 in Q1 FY25.

CMD Reaffirms Growth Outlook
Commenting on the results, Cmde PR Hari, IN (Retd), Chairman and Managing Director, said:
“We have started FY26 on the right note with strong Q1 results. Considering the production maturity levels of the ongoing projects, we are confident of maintaining the growth momentum.”
