RITES Appoints Vinod Kumar Paswan as Group General Manager (Civil) and Eastern Region Head

New Delhi: Engineering consultancy PSU RITES Limited has appointed Vinod Kumar Paswan, an Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE) officer, as Group General Manager (Civil) and Regional Head of the Eastern Region Project Office (ERPO), Kolkata.

The appointment came into effect on July 17, 2026, as per a stock exchange filing by the company. Paswan has joined RITES on a deputation basis and has been inducted into the company’s senior management team.

Vinod Kumar Paswan Takes Charge as ERPO Kolkata Regional Head

Vinod Kumar Paswan, a 1998-batch IRSE officer, has been appointed to lead RITES’ Eastern Region Project Office in Kolkata.

Before joining RITES, Paswan served as Chief Engineer, Road Safety Works, Eastern Railway.

With more than 25 years of experience in railway infrastructure development and project management, his appointment is expected to strengthen RITES’ project execution capabilities in the Eastern Region.

Alok Bansal Transferred to Lucknow Project Unit

The management change also includes the transfer of Alok Bansal, who was previously heading the Eastern Region Project Office.

Following the transfer, Bansal has been moved to Project Unit (PU), Lucknow and has ceased to be part of RITES’ senior management.

The leadership transition became effective on the same date as Paswan’s appointment.

Vinod Kumar Paswan’s Experience in Railway Infrastructure Projects

During his long career with Indian Railways, Paswan has worked on several major infrastructure projects, including:

  • Track doubling projects
  • Railway station redevelopment works
  • Bridge construction projects
  • PM Gati Shakti infrastructure initiatives
  • Railway safety-related projects

His experience in managing large-scale infrastructure programmes is expected to support RITES’ ongoing projects in transportation and engineering consultancy.

Vinod Kumar Paswan has received recognition for his contributions to Indian Railways, including:

  • General Manager’s Award
  • GM Star Performer Award

He holds engineering and management qualifications from reputed institutions, including:

  • BIT Sindri
  • IIT Delhi
  • NMIMS Mumbai

Appointment to Strengthen RITES’ Eastern Region Operations

The appointment of Paswan is expected to enhance RITES’ capabilities in executing infrastructure projects across the Eastern Region.

The company is involved in various railway, transport and infrastructure development projects, where experienced leadership plays a key role in project planning and implementation.
