New Delhi: Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has secured a significant infrastructure contract worth ₹758.07 crore from NMDC Limited for railway siding development and associated infrastructure works at Bacheli.
The company announced the development through a regulatory filing submitted to the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and BSE under SEBI Listing Regulations.
The project is expected to strengthen railway logistics and support capacity expansion activities linked to mining operations in the Bacheli region.
Scope of Work Under the Contract
As part of the awarded contract, RVNL will undertake multiple infrastructure development activities, including:
- Development of a railway siding near Padapur Village
- Construction of bridges
- PWD road diversion works
- Associated civil infrastructure development
- Preparation of Feasibility Study Report (FSR)
- Detailed Project Report (DPR) preparation
- Detailed engineering services
- Execution and Project Management Consultancy (PMC) services
The project has been designed to improve transportation efficiency and support the growing operational requirements at Bacheli.
Project Value and Completion Timeline
According to the company’s disclosure, the total contract value stands at:
₹758.07 Crore (Including 18% GST)
RVNL stated that the project is scheduled to be completed within:
36 Months
The contract has been awarded by a domestic entity and falls under the normal course of business operations for the company.
Strategic Importance of the Bacheli Expansion Project
The railway infrastructure project is expected to enhance logistics connectivity for mining and industrial activities in the region. Improved railway siding infrastructure will help streamline material transportation, reduce operational bottlenecks, and improve cargo handling efficiency.
