New Delhi: Rail Vikas Nigam Limited has emerged as the Lowest Bidder (L1) for a major railway infrastructure project worth over ₹221 crore under the South East Central Railway.
The project focuses on modernising signalling and telecommunications infrastructure in the Bilaspur Division and further strengthens RVNL’s growing EPC project portfolio in India.
Major Signalling Modernisation Project for Indian Railways
Under the contract, RVNL will undertake large-scale upgrades aimed at improving railway safety, efficiency, and operational reliability.
Key project highlights include:
- Replacement of old Panel Interlocking systems with modern Electronic Interlocking
- Signalling and telecom upgrades across 15 railway stations
- Installation of indoor and outdoor signalling equipment
- Cabling and block section infrastructure development
The project is part of Indian Railways’ ongoing modernisation initiative.

These upgrades are expected to improve train movement efficiency and operational safety in the region.
Civil, Electrical and OFC Infrastructure Included
The project scope also covers:
- Construction of S&T service buildings
- Development of Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) huts
- Electrification of service buildings
- Installation of complete signalling infrastructure
This integrated approach will support advanced railway communication systems.
