The Union Government recently appointed Mr. Sandeep Kumar as the new Director (Finance) of the Mahartna PSU Power Finance Corporation Limited (PFC). Mr. Kumar previously served as Executive Director (Finance) at PFC since January 1st, 2020, and he held the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at the corporation.
Recognised for his leadership abilities, particularly in managing cross-functional teams and fostering innovation to enhance both customer and employee experiences — Mr. Kumar’s diverse experience is expected to further bolster PFC’s financial strategies and contribute to its continued growth and stability.
Mr. Kumar has played a crucial role in managing PFC’s non-capex loan portfolio and executing government schemes such as the Liquidity Infusion Scheme (LIS) and the Liquidity Provisioning Scheme (LPS). Additionally, he has been a driving force behind advancing PFC’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives. His leadership was instrumental in the successful implementation of the Rs 1.12 trillion Liquidity Infusion Scheme for the power distribution sector, a significant initiative under the Government of India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat program.
