Saurabh Garg Appointed As CEO, UIDAI Chief

Mr. Garg's appointment is part of a major bureaucratic reshuffle by the Centre on Thursday. 21 other officers have been transferred.

Senior IAS officer Saurabh Garg will soon take charge of UIDAI. He has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) as part of a major bureaucratic reshuffle by the Centre on Thursday. The 1991 batch officer is currently serving in his state cadre Odisha.

His appointment has been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC). He has been promoted to the rank of Additional Secretary. Apart from him 21 other bureaucrats have been appointed to different ministries. The order was issued by Personnel Ministry.

A 1991 batch IAS officer of Maharashtra cadre Sanjeev Kumar has been appointed as the Chairman, Airports Authority of India (AAI). On the other hand Mr. Atish Chandra (1994) will be Chairman and Managing Director, Food Corporation of India. He is currently serving as the Joint Secretary, Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare.

CEO, Government e-Marketplace Special Purpose Vehicle, Ministry of Commerce and Industry Mr. Talleen Kumar has been appointed as Member Finance, Space Commission in the rank and pay of Secretary to Government of India. The 1987 batch IAS officer of West Bengal cadre, would also hold additional charge of Member Finance, Earth Commission and Atomic Energy Commission (with headquarters at New Delhi).

Prashant Kumar Singh (1993, Manipur) will be the Chief Executive Officer, Government e-Marketplace Special Purpose Vehicle. A 1990 batch officer Mukhmeet Singh Bhatia will be Director General, Employees’ State Insurance Corporation. The Jharkhand cadre officer is at present Additional Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance.

Madhya Pradesh cadre IAS officer Vivek Aggarwal has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare. He is currently Joint Secretary in the same department. Apart from them several other officers have been assigned with new roles.
