Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh: Mr Pawan Kumar Gangwar, a 2014 batch promotee IAS officer, has recently taken charge as the District Magistrate (DM) of Mirzapur. Known for his strict administrative approach and efficient governance, Gangwar has begun his tenure with a clear focus on accountability and public service.
From PCS to IAS: A Journey of Commitment
Pawan Kumar Gangwar initially entered the civil services as a PCS officer in 1999. Over the years, he has served in various capacities across multiple districts, including Lucknow, where he honed his administrative skills. After his promotion to IAS, Gangwar served as the Chief Development Officer (CDO) in Mathura before assuming his current role in Mirzapur.
A Blessing and a Responsibility
Upon his posting to Mirzapur, Gangwar visited the revered Maa Vindhyavasini shrine and expressed his gratitude, describing the opportunity to serve in the mother goddess’s city as a blessing and a good fortune. “It is only because of the blessings of the mother that I have got the opportunity to work here,” said Gangwar.
A Firm Stand on Development and Governance
As DM, Gangwar has already initiated reviews of all departments in Mirzapur. He has emphasized that laxity and negligence in developmental work will not be tolerated under his administration. He urged all officers to align with government directives and ensure prompt resolution of public grievances.
He further stated, “My effort will be to ensure that the government’s works reach every citizen. Officers will be instructed to take public hearings seriously and resolve issues efficiently.”
