Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government has carried out a major bureaucratic reshuffle, transferring 27 IAS officers and assigning them new responsibilities across key departments, state-run corporations, municipal bodies and district administrations.
Among the prominent changes, Dharmendra Pratap Yadav, Chairman and Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Small Industries Corporation (TANSI), has been appointed Principal Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, replacing Prashant M. Wadnere.
At the same time, N. Muruganandham, Additional Chief Secretary and Commissioner of Revenue Administration and Disaster Management, has been shifted as Chairman and Managing Director of TANSI.
B. Chandramohan, who was serving as Additional Chief Secretary, School Education, will take over as Additional Chief Secretary and Commissioner of Revenue Administration and Disaster Management.
The reshuffle also brings significant changes to the School Education Department, with J. Innocent Divya, currently Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Handloom Weavers’ Cooperative Society (Co-optex), being appointed Secretary, School Education.
Major Change in School Education Department
J. Innocent Divya, a prominent IAS officer who previously served as District Collector of Nilgiris, has been moved from Co-optex to the School Education Department.
She will take charge as Secretary, School Education, succeeding B. Chandramohan, who has been shifted to Revenue Administration and Disaster Management.

The appointment places Innocent Divya in charge of one of the state’s key public-facing departments, overseeing school education administration and related policy implementation.
Dharmendra Pratap Yadav Gets Rural Development
Dharmendra Pratap Yadav has been moved from his position as CMD of TANSI to the post of Principal Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj.
The department plays a crucial role in implementing rural development programmes, strengthening local governance through panchayati raj institutions and overseeing various schemes aimed at improving rural infrastructure and services.
Yadav replaces Prashant M. Wadnere in the department.
Muruganandham Shifted to TANSI
N. Muruganandham, who was serving as Additional Chief Secretary/Commissioner of Revenue Administration and Disaster Management, has been appointed Chairman and Managing Director of TANSI.
His move creates a change at the top of the Revenue Administration and Disaster Management Department, with B. Chandramohan being brought in to take charge.
TANSI is one of Tamil Nadu’s key state public-sector enterprises, with responsibilities linked to the development and promotion of small-scale industries in the state.
B. Chandramohan Takes Over Revenue Administration
B. Chandramohan, who was Additional Chief Secretary, School Education, will now serve as Additional Chief Secretary and Commissioner of Revenue Administration and Disaster Management.
The department is responsible for a wide range of administrative functions, including revenue administration, disaster management and coordination of relief and rehabilitation measures during emergencies.
His appointment comes as part of the broader restructuring of senior-level responsibilities in the state bureaucracy.
Three Districts Get New Collectors
The reshuffle has also resulted in changes in the district administration, with new Collectors being appointed in Virudhunagar, Perambalur and Tirupattur.
Sharanya Ari, who was serving as Collector of Perambalur, has been transferred and posted as Collector of Virudhunagar. She replaces N.O. Sukhaputra, who has been moved to the Chennai Metro Water Supply and Sewerage Board as Executive Director.
F. Abdul Razick, previously Sub Collector, Ponneri, has been appointed Collector of Perambalur.
In Tirupattur, V. Nallasivan, who was serving as Sub Collector, Chengalpattu, has been posted as Collector. He replaces G. Ravikumar, who has been transferred as Joint Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
The changes bring three new administrative heads to the districts as part of the latest state-wide reshuffle.
Changes in Municipal and Urban Administration
Several officers have also been moved to key positions in municipal administration and urban development.
Veer Pratap Singh, who was serving as Commissioner of the Tiruchi Corporation, has been transferred and posted as Executive Director, SIPCOT.
He will be replaced as Tiruchi Corporation Commissioner by N. Ponmani.
A. Catherine Saranya has been moved from SIPCOT and appointed Commissioner, Vellore Corporation.
Meanwhile, Thakare Shubham Dnyandeorao has been appointed Joint Commissioner (Health), Greater Chennai Corporation.
These changes come at a time when municipal corporations across Tamil Nadu are handling a broad range of urban infrastructure, public health, sanitation and civic service responsibilities.
Other Key Departmental Appointments
The reshuffle extends across several departments and state-run organisations.
R. Lilly has been appointed Secretary, Handlooms, Handicrafts, Textiles and Khadi, while E. Saravanavelraj has been posted as Commissioner, Stationery and Printing.
Ajay Yadav has been appointed Commissioner, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection.
S. Sivarasu has been posted as Director, Milk Production and Dairy Development. He will also function as Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation Ltd.
T.N. Venkatesh has been appointed Principal Secretary and Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Finance and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. (TUFIDCO).
K.S. Kandasamy has been appointed Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Minerals Limited.
Kavitha Ramu has been given charge of the Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation.
Dr K. Senthil Raj has been shifted as Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Adi Dravidar Housing and Development Corporation. He will also continue to function as Director, Adi Dravidar Welfare.
Tourism, Transport and Commercial Taxes
The latest reshuffle has also affected the tourism, transport and commercial tax sectors.
Mr. Sunkara has been appointed Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation.
K. Sangeetha has been posted as Joint Commissioner (State Tax), Commercial Taxes, Coimbatore.
Dr V.P. Jeyaseelan has been appointed Managing Director, Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC).
The appointments bring new leadership to organisations and departments responsible for tourism promotion, public transport and revenue collection.
HR&CE, Home and Other Key Departments
The reshuffle also includes important departmental responsibilities in areas such as Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments, Home and Excise.
V. Rajaraman has been given charge of the HR&CE Department, while T. Mohan has been posted to the Home, Prohibition and Excise Department.
The changes are part of the wider administrative exercise involving 27 IAS officers across Tamil Nadu.
