Patna: Bihar is set to give Tarapur in Munger district a major tourism boost with plans for an international yoga centre, a grand Adiyogi statue and modern spiritual tourism facilities.
The state Cabinet has approved 15.01 acres of government land in Ghazipur village for the Isha Foundation on a 99-year lease at a token rent of ₹1 per year.
The project aims to connect Tarapur’s spiritual heritage with modern yoga, wellness and tourism opportunities.
Tarapur Gets New Tourism Identity
Tarapur lies in the ancient Anga region and is an important destination on the Shiv Circuit and Kanwariya Path.
The area attracts lakhs of devotees every year. The new project is expected to expand its appeal beyond religious tourism and attract visitors interested in:
- Yoga and meditation
- Wellness tourism
- Spiritual programmes
- Cultural and religious tourism

Adiyogi Statue and Yoga Centre Planned
