The government has also approved recruitment for another 9,751 police personnel in 2026.

Recruitment for police band and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) positions is also in its final stage.

The Chief Minister said the government aims to complete the remaining recruitment for constable and sub-inspector positions within the next two years.

He added that the Madhya Pradesh Police Recruitment Board has been conducting the recruitment process transparently.

New Police Battalion to Be Established in Khandwa

CM Mohan Yadav announced that a new police battalion will be established in Khandwa.

He also announced plans to establish three State Industrial Security Force units in Madhya Pradesh. One unit will be established in the first phase.

The government will also create special companies for youth belonging to the Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs), including:

  • Baiga
  • Bharia
  • Saharia

The move is aimed at creating more opportunities for tribal youth while strengthening the police force.

Focus on Police Morale and Welfare

CM Yadav said police personnel face physical injuries, stress and difficult working conditions while maintaining law and order. Therefore, their hard work must be recognised through respect, rewards and career advancement.

He described the police uniform and stars on the shoulders of police personnel as symbols of the security and trust of Madhya Pradesh’s 8.5 crore citizens.

The Chief Minister urged police personnel to work with:

  • Honesty
  • Sensitivity
  • Discipline
  • Impartiality

He said the police should develop a sense of trust and affection among citizens while ensuring that criminals fear the law.

CM Yadav Praises Madhya Pradesh Police

The Chief Minister said the Madhya Pradesh Police has established a distinct identity across the country through patriotism, public service, courage and commitment.

He said the force has successfully handled major security challenges, including eliminating the dacoit problem in the Chambal region and making Madhya Pradesh the first state to become free from the Naxal problem.

CM Yadav said police personnel should focus on their duties while the government would fulfil its responsibilities towards their families.

He also cited the example of National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, noting his continued contribution to national security even after retirement.

New Recruitment and FSL Strengthening

Director General of Police Kailash Makwana said new rules were prepared in 2025 for recruitment to the posts of Sub-Inspectors and Subedars.

He said CM Yadav has approved the recruitment process for 7,500 new posts, while recruitment against the approved constable, Subedar and Sub-Inspector positions is currently underway.

Approval has also been given for recruitment to 9,662 different posts during the current year, according to the DGP.

Makwana highlighted the role of the police department’s Hawk Force in eliminating Naxalism from Madhya Pradesh.

The state police has also recruited:

  • 325 personnel for the Hawk Force
  • 882 personnel for the Special Auxiliary Force

Police Band and Forensic Science Recruitment

The DGP said discipline is a key component of police functioning and that parades play an important role in strengthening discipline.

Recruitment for police band units is currently underway, and all police units will soon have access to police bands.

He also highlighted the importance of the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) in implementing the new criminal laws. CM Yadav has approved fresh recruitment for the FSL to strengthen forensic capabilities.

The Madhya Pradesh Police has made more than 18,000 new appointments over the past two years, according to the DGP.

These newly recruited personnel will undergo training and will subsequently be available for security duties during Simhastha 2028 in Ujjain, which is expected to attract devotees from across the country.

The Chief Minister has also been consistently focused on the welfare of police personnel, the DGP said.

Police Personnel Thank CM Yadav for Promotions

Promoted DSP Deepika Shinde, posted in Ujjain district, expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister and said many police personnel had served for nearly two decades and were approaching retirement.

She said the promotion decision had provided recognition to their service.

Inspector Reena Chauhan said the resumption of the promotion process benefited three members of her family. According to her, promotions increase dedication and energy among employees.

Trainee DSP Vinay Kumar Daharwal, a resident of Balaghat, said his success in clearing the Public Service Commission examination and becoming a DSP had inspired people in his region.

Newly recruited woman constable Aastha Sharma said becoming part of the police force after marriage and having children fulfilled her childhood dream of wearing the police uniform.
