Tata Electronics, ASML Sign MoU in Gujarat to Strengthen India’s Semiconductor Ecosystem

Dholera: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Tata Electronics and ASML aimed at strengthening India’s semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem.

The agreement is expected to support the development and scaling of Tata Electronics’ upcoming semiconductor facility in Dholera, Gujarat.

Tata-ASML Partnership to Boost Dholera Semiconductor Facility

Under the agreement, ASML will provide technological and operational support for setting up and expanding the semiconductor manufacturing unit being developed by Tata Electronics in Dholera.

The project is considered a key step in advancing India’s semiconductor ambitions and building a strong domestic manufacturing base in high-tech electronics.

PM Modi Highlights India–Netherlands Tech Cooperation

Sharing details on social media platform X, PM Narendra Modi said the partnership reflects growing cooperation between India and the Netherlands in futuristic and advanced technology sectors. He noted that the collaboration marks an important milestone in strengthening global partnerships in semiconductor manufacturing and innovation.

Semiconductors Seen as Key Opportunity for Indian Youth

Prime Minister Modi emphasized that India’s progress in the semiconductor sector is creating significant opportunities for young professionals and engineers. He stated that the country will continue to invest in and expand this sector as part of its long-term technological growth strategy.

India’s Growing Focus on Semiconductor Manufacturing

India has been actively working to strengthen its domestic semiconductor ecosystem as part of its broader self-reliance and advanced manufacturing initiatives. States like Gujarat have emerged as major hubs for semiconductor and electronics investments, with large-scale projects such as the Dholera facility attracting global attention.

Strategic Step Toward Tech Self-Reliance

The Tata Electronics–ASML collaboration is expected to significantly enhance India’s semiconductor capabilities, support advanced manufacturing, and position the country more strongly in the global technology supply chain.
