SAIL Appoints T. N. Natarajan as Director (Commercial) to Boost Sales and Market Strategy

New Delhi: The Government of India has approved the appointment of  T. N. Natarajan as the next Director (Commercial) of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), one of India’s largest public sector steel producers. The approval was issued through the Ministry of Steel with the consent of the President of India.

Currently serving as Chief General Manager (Sales) & Regional Manager, Western Region,  Natarajan will assume the role of Director (Commercial) upon taking charge, with a tenure of five years, subject to superannuation or further government directions.

  • Selection Process: Recommended by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) and approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC)

This appointment is part of SAIL’s strategic initiative to strengthen commercial operations and enhance market competitiveness.

 Natarajan brings over 30 years of experience in the steel industry, specializing in sales, marketing, and commercial operations. His key contributions include:

  • Managing Western Region operations, one of SAIL’s largest and highest-revenue markets
  • Expertise in pricing strategy, sales growth, and customer relationship management
  • Driving operational efficiency, channel optimization, and supply chain coordination
  • Strengthening SAIL’s market presence in Western India

Known for his leadership and strategic insight,  Natarajan is expected to play a pivotal role in guiding SAIL’s commercial strategies and profitability.
