Tripura Govt Reshuffles 47 IPS, TPS Officers; Rishabh Appointed SP, Unakoti

The Tripura Government has transferred and posted 47 IPS and Tripura Police Service officers in a major reshuffle, assigning new responsibilities across cyber crime, vigilance, economic offences, TSR battalions and district policing.

Agartala: The Tripura Government on Thursday carried out a major reshuffle in the state police administration, transferring and posting 47 Indian Police Service (IPS) and Tripura Police Service (TPS) officers with immediate effect.

The transfers, notified by the General Administration (Personnel and Training) Department, have been made “in the interest of public service” and will remain effective until further orders.

The reshuffle covers senior leadership positions in cyber crime, vigilance, economic offences, district policing, the Tripura State Rifles (TSR), crime investigation and specialised police units.

Key IPS Officers Get New Assignments

Among the IPS officers, several important changes have been made:

  • Sudhambika R. (IPS), Superintendent of Police, Unakoti, has been posted as SP (Cyber Crime).
  • Rishabh (IPS), Additional SP, Gomati, has been appointed SP, Unakoti.
  • Nabadwip Jamatia (IPS), SP (Cyber Crime), has been transferred as Commandant, 15th Battalion, Tripura State Rifles (TSR).
  • Sankar Debnath (IPS) has been shifted from Commandant, 6th Battalion TSR to SP (Economic Offences).
  • Timir Das (IPS) has been posted as Additional Inspector General of Police (Training).

Major Changes Among TPS Officers

The reshuffle also includes several important postings involving Tripura Police Service officers.

Key changes include:

  • Piyamadhuri Majumder (TPS) has been transferred from SP (Economic Offences) to SP (Vigilance).
  • Jeremia Darlong (TPS) moves from SP (Vigilance) to Commandant, CIAT School.
  • Kisan Kumar (TPS) has been posted as SP, State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB).
  • Anirban Das (TPS) has been shifted from Commandant (SAF) to SP, Gomati.
  • H. Francis Darlong (TPS) has been appointed SP (Anti-Narcotics).
  • Mina Kumari Debbarma (TPS) has been transferred from Additional SP, Tripura Police Control Board to SP (Serious Crime).

Field-Level Transfers Across Districts

The notification also includes transfers involving Additional Superintendents of Police, Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs), Deputy Superintendents of Police and Assistant Commandants across various districts and Tripura State Rifles battalions.

Among them:

  • Ashish Kumar Thakur (IPS) has been transferred from SDPO, Kanchanpur to Additional SP, North District.
  • D. Kudiarasu (IPS) moves from SDPO, Khowai to Additional SP, Sepahijala District.

Additional Charges Assigned

The government has also entrusted several officers with additional responsibilities to ensure continuity in specialised policing units.

  • Dr Chandan Saha has been posted as SP (MTF) and will continue to hold the additional charge of the Special Task Force (STF) and Additional SP (Special Branch).
  • Anirban Dhar Choudhury has been given the additional charge of Commandant, 12th Battalion TSR.
  • Amitabha Pal will continue to look after SP (Government Establishment Security) in addition to his existing responsibilities.

Order Issued Under Governor’s Approval

The transfer order was issued by the General Administration (Personnel and Training) Department under the orders of the Governor of Tripura.

The large-scale reshuffle is expected to strengthen police administration across the state by repositioning officers in key operational, investigative and training assignments.
