Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet, under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Friday approved 22 important proposals aimed at uplifting students, women, farmers, and urban residents. The wide-ranging decisions span across key sectors such as education, infrastructure, housing, agriculture, mining, and employment generation.
Scholarships to Be Released Before Diwali
Students awaiting their 2024 scholarship payments will receive them by Diwali 2025, with a budget allocation of ₹647.38 crore. The state will reopen the portal to ensure no deserving student is left behind.
1.85 Crore Women to Receive Two Free LPG Cylinders
In a move to support women from economically weaker sections, the Cabinet approved two free LPG cylinder refills per year under the Ujjwala Yojana. One refill will be provided around Diwali, benefiting 1.85 crore women across the state.
Urban Expansion & Affordable Housing Projects
New housing schemes will be launched under the Mukhyamantri Shahri Vistaarikaran Yojana in Lucknow, Ayodhya, Rampur, and Baghpat-Baraut-Khekra. To fund land acquisition and development:
- ₹250 crore allocated to Lucknow Development Authority
- ₹100 crore to Ayodhya Development Authority
- 107 hectares of land will be acquired in Ayodhya at a cost of ₹318 crore
Three New Private Universities Cleared
To promote higher education, the state gave the green light to establish:
- Radha Govind University, Chandausi (Sambhal)
- Gandhi University, Jhansi
- Thakur Yuvraj Singh University, Fatehpur
This move supports UP’s vision to become a national hub for private higher education.
Procurement Policy for Kharif 2025–26 Finalized
The Cabinet outlined procurement details for paddy and coarse grains:
Paddy Procurement Window:
- Western UP: October 1, 2025 – January 31, 2026
- Eastern UP: October 15, 2025 – February 28, 2026
- MSP for common paddy: ₹2,369/quintal
- Grade-A paddy: ₹2,389/quintal
- Target: 60 lakh metric tonnes
MSP for Coarse Grains:
- Maize: ₹2,400/quintal
- Bajra: ₹2,775/quintal
- Hybrid Jowar: ₹3,699/quintal
- Maldandi Jowar: ₹3,749/quintal
Greenfield Expressway Linking Agra-Lucknow to Ganga Corridor Approved
A new 90-km greenfield expressway will connect the Agra-Lucknow Expressway to the Ganga Expressway, running via Farrukhabad. This strategic link is expected to enhance logistics, regional connectivity, and economic development in central UP.
Sant Kabir Textile & Apparel Park to Boost Jobs
The Cabinet approved the Sant Kabir Textile and Apparel Park Scheme, which aims to create large-scale employment opportunities and support textile-sector growth across the state.

- District Mineral Foundation Trust Rules (2025) amended
- Municipal Centralized Service Rules and Dependent Employment Rules revised
